Go-RC is operated by Go RC Spots Limited ("Go-RC", "we", "us" or "our").

Depending on how you use Go-RC, we may collect the following information.

Account and profile information

When you create a Go-RC account, we may collect:

  • Profile photograph, if you choose to upload one
  • Information provided through Google Sign-In

If you use Google Sign-In, Google may provide us with information associated with your Google account, such as your name, email address and profile information, depending on the permissions and settings applicable to your Google account.

Location information

Go-RC may collect or process location information when you use features that rely on location.

This may include:

  • Your device location, where you give the relevant permission
  • Locations of RC spots you submit
  • Locations associated with events, stores or other places submitted to Go-RC

Location information may be visible to other Go-RC users where you intentionally submit it as part of a public spot, event or other community content.

You should avoid submitting a location that identifies your private home or another person's private address unless you are certain that doing so is appropriate.

RC Garage and photographs

Go-RC allows you to create a Garage and showcase your RC vehicles.

You may choose to upload:

  • Photographs of RC vehicles
  • Build photographs
  • Modification and upgrade photographs
  • Other photographs or information relating to your RC hobby

Content that you choose to publish publicly may be visible to other Go-RC users and potentially accessible through Go-RC's website or application.

Please do not upload photographs containing sensitive personal information or information about another person without appropriate permission.

RC spots and user-generated content

Go-RC allows users to contribute information to the community.

This may include:

  • RC spot locations
  • Descriptions of locations
  • Photographs
  • Reviews or comments
  • Event information
  • Track day information
  • Crawler event information
  • Long-jump competition information
  • Swap meet information
  • Other RC-related content

Content you deliberately publish to the Go-RC community may be publicly visible.

You are responsible for ensuring that information and content you submit is accurate and that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit photographs or other content.

Membership and payment information

Go-RC offers paid membership services, including Go-RC Elite.

Website payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Android in-app subscriptions may be processed and managed by Google Play.

Go-RC does not require you to provide your full payment card details directly to us. Payment information is processed by the relevant payment provider in accordance with its own privacy and security practices.

We may receive information from Stripe or Google Play necessary to administer your membership, such as:

  • Confirmation that a payment has been made
  • Subscription status
  • Membership information
  • Transaction or payment identifiers
  • Subscription dates
  • Information necessary to manage refunds or cancellations

We do not store complete payment card numbers on Go-RC's systems for our own purposes.

Go-RC credits and activity

We may record activity associated with your Go-RC account, including:

  • Credits earned
  • Credits used
  • Contributions to Go-RC
  • Spots submitted
  • Content submitted
  • Membership activity
  • Participation in Go-RC features

This information allows us to provide and administer Go-RC's features and rewards.

Technical and usage information

When you use Go-RC, we may automatically collect certain technical or usage information, depending on the services and analytics tools used by the application.

  • Operating system
  • Browser or application information
  • Approximate location derived from technical information
  • Usage information

  • Diagnostic and performance information

GO-RC and the technical or analytics services used to operate the application may use device, browser or app-related identifiers to understand how the service is used, measure application performance, diagnose errors and crashes, monitor app health and improve GO-RC. These identifiers are used for analytics and technical purposes and are not used by GO-RC for personalised advertising.

We use this information to operate, maintain, secure and improve Go-RC.

  • Create and manage your Go-RC account
  • Provide Go-RC's services and features
  • Authenticate your account
  • Process and administer Elite memberships
  • Process payments and subscriptions
  • Allow you to create and manage your Garage

  • Allow users to discover and participate in events
  • Administer Go-RC credits, rewards and giveaways
  • Communicate with you about your account
  • Send important service and account notifications
  • Send marketing communications where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and misuse
  • Maintain the security of Go-RC
  • Monitor and improve application performance
  • Analyse how Go-RC is used
  • Develop new features and services
  • Use pseudonymous device or app identifiers for analytics, diagnostics and performance monitoring
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Protect our rights, users and business

We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes explained in this Privacy Policy unless we are permitted or required to do so by law.

Contract

We process information where it is necessary to provide the Go-RC services you have requested, including managing your account and providing paid membership services.

Base44

Go-RC is built and operated using Base44.

Base44 provides application infrastructure and related services and may process personal information on our behalf.

Base44 may also use approved subprocessors in providing its services.

Stripe

We use Stripe to process website payments and manage website subscriptions.

Stripe processes payment information in accordance with its own privacy policies and security practices.

Google

We use Google services, including Google Sign-In and Google Play Billing, to authenticate users and, on Android, process and manage in-app subscriptions.

Google may provide us with subscription status, product identifiers, purchase tokens, order identifiers and expiry information needed to administer Elite access. Google processes payment information in accordance with Google's own privacy policies and terms.

Analytics and technical service providers

We may use analytics, hosting and technical service providers, including services provided through the platform used to operate GO-RC, to understand application usage, identify errors, monitor performance and improve the service. These providers may process technical information, usage information and pseudonymous device or app identifiers on our behalf where necessary to provide these services.

Where these providers process information on our behalf, they are required to handle it in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and our instructions.

Legal and regulatory authorities

We may disclose information where necessary to:

  • Comply with the law

6. Publicly visible information

Some information you choose to submit to Go-RC is intended to be shared with the Go-RC community.

  • A Garage vehicle
  • A photograph

  • Other community content

that information may be visible to other users.

Before publishing content, please consider whether you are comfortable with it being publicly available.

7. Your responsibility for content

You should not submit personal information belonging to another person unless you have a lawful basis and, where appropriate, their permission.

You should also avoid submitting:

  • Private addresses
  • Sensitive personal information
  • Financial information
  • Passwords
  • Identification documents
  • Other information that should not be publicly available

Go-RC may remove content that we believe breaches our terms, creates a safety risk, infringes another person's rights or is otherwise inappropriate.

8. Location information

Some Go-RC features require location information to function effectively.

You can control location permissions through your device settings.

If you submit an RC spot, event or other location as community content, the location you submit may be visible to other users.

Go-RC is not responsible for ensuring that a user-submitted location is suitable, safe, accessible or legally permitted for RC use. Users should independently check access permissions and local restrictions before visiting a location.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

The Go-RC website and application may use cookies, local storage, analytics technologies or similar technologies to:

  • Keep services functioning
  • Remember preferences
  • Understand how users interact with the service
  • Improve performance
  • Maintain security
  • Measure usage

Where applicable, non-essential cookies or similar technologies will be used in accordance with applicable law and any consent requirements.

10. Marketing communications

We may send service-related communications that are necessary to administer your Go-RC account or membership.

Where required, we will obtain appropriate consent before sending direct marketing communications.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications by using the unsubscribe option provided in the relevant email or by contacting us at info@go-rc.uk.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications will not prevent us from sending essential service or account-related communications.

11. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Retention periods depend on the type of information and why we hold it.

  • Account information is generally retained while your account remains active.
  • Membership and transaction information may be retained for as long as necessary to administer the membership and comply with accounting, tax and legal requirements.
  • User-generated content may remain available while associated with an active account or where necessary to maintain the integrity of the Go-RC community.
  • Information required for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes may be retained for an appropriate period after an account is closed.

When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymise it.

12. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your Go-RC account.

To request deletion, visit https://go-rc.uk/delete-account or use the Delete Account option in Profile → Settings within the app.

You can also contact info@go-rc.uk.

When an account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently deleted:

  • Account and profile information
  • Garage entries and rig photos
  • Reviews and comments
  • Uploaded spot and member photos
  • Check-ins and saved spot data
  • Notifications and membership requests
  • Prize draw and giveaway tickets

The following may be retained in anonymised form where required for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting or regulatory purposes:

  • Merchandise order records (retained for HMRC tax record-keeping, with personal identifiers such as name and address removed)
  • Spots and events you submitted (community content is retained, but your personal identifiers are removed)

Deletion of your Go-RC account does not necessarily cancel a payment or subscription with a third-party payment provider. If you have an active paid subscription, you should ensure that it has been cancelled appropriately.

13. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including:

  • The right to be informed about how your information is used
  • The right to access your personal information
  • The right to have inaccurate information corrected
  • The right to request deletion of your information
  • The right to request restriction of processing
  • The right to object to certain processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
